When Jean Andre turned 2
I first met this very lovely family when documenting Restoke's You Are Here project last year and I've kept in touch with Beatriz since then, so I was very excited when they asked me to photograph their special family celebration. Jean Andre was turning 2 and shares his birthday celebrations with his dad, they had some family and friends visiting and were preparing for a party the following day.
I had such a great afternoon with everyone and having the freedom to document what was happening. The guys blew up balloons and put up decorations whilst the ladies prepared traditional Venezuelan cuisine in the kitchen. Jean is such an adorable little toddler, so happy enjoying the festivities. I've never heard a better rendition of 'Happy Birthday'!
